Educational programs for your school or groups: Ron Hope’s communication and cooperation through drumming. I have developed a model for teaching drumming and percussion in an educational setting. Drumming as a communication workshop 4th grade to 12 grade. I have developed a classroom model using hand held percussion instruments to facilitate using cooperation and decision making skills.
Ron Hope’s introduction to ethnic percussion K through 12. I will introduce percussion instruments as tools I use for my job as a percussionist. I have worked with as many 800 students in a single school day (30 per group. 25 minutes per session)
Ron Hope and Yvonne Mumim drum and dance workshops for small and large groups Yvonne and I have worked with Columbus Public, New Albany, and many other school systems as well as Hosack Baptist Church, and The Village to child program at Ohio Dominican Collage.
The Short Stop Drum and Dance ensemble - http://www.dfyf.org One of my proudest accomplishments, The Short Stop Drum and Dance Ensemble performs 35 to 40 times a year in the city and state of Ohio. The members of the group range in age from 7 to 19. The Drum and Dance ensemble has performed for Mayor Mike Coleman’s Inaugural Ball and also the Capital Cities Competition in Mobile, Alabama. The ensemble is always looking for New Dancers and Drummers. There is no fee for participating in the Short Stop Drum and dance ensemble and in some cases, transportation is provided. Yvonne Mumim is an incredible dance instructor and mentor to our young people. I have been Artistic Director of the Ensemble for 13 years. It has been a very rewarding experience to see the young people I have worked with through the years, some of them have families of their own now.
